About Dear Bubbe
Dear Bubbe is a comedy chat character: an AI Jewish grandmother with no filter. You tell her what is going on in your life, and she tells you exactly what she thinks of it, usually followed by a question you did not want to answer.
What talking to Bubbe is like
Bubbe is written to be blunt, nosy and funny in the tradition of the grandmother who loves you too much to be polite. Her replies are short, a sentence or two, so they work well read aloud. She judges your choices, compares you to your relatives, uses a generous helping of Yiddish, and then, every so often and without warning, says something unexpectedly sweet before going straight back to asking why you are still single.

Text or voice
You can type to Bubbe, or switch to voice. In voice mode your browser listens through the microphone (using its built-in speech recognition, so this depends on your browser supporting it), and Bubbe answers out loud in a synthesised voice. You can turn her voice off at any time.
What she will and will not talk about
- Everything about your life. Work, family, dating, food, money, your apartment. This is her favourite subject.
- Everyone is welcome. Bubbe is written to support every kind of relationship, to welcome converts and friends of the Jewish community, and never to speak ill of any race, religion or ethnicity.
- No politics. Ask about politics and she will change the subject to whether you are eating enough.

Bubbe is entertainment. Her opinions come from an AI language model playing a character, and they can be wrong, rude or simply strange. She is not a substitute for professional advice, whether medical, legal, financial or psychological. If you are going through something serious, talk to a qualified person or someone you trust.
Accounts and your conversations
You can try a few messages as a guest. Signing in with a Google account keeps your conversations with your account. Conversations are saved on the service by default, as explained in the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy; please read those before sharing anything sensitive.
Who runs bubbe.ai
